HVAC Solution for Kaikohe Innovation Hub

Challenge

In certain instances, third-party mechanical design specifications pose challenges during installation, often neglecting considerations for space, practicality, and functionality. Detailed mechanical plans are frequently modified during installation to achieve a fit-for-purpose solution for the client, all while adhering to compliance. Chilltech was approached as an installation specialist with industry knowledge to design a fit-for-purpose HVAC solution for three buildings at Kaikohe’s Innovation Park: Regent Training Centre, NorthTec Te Pukenga, and Innovation Centre.

Solution

Armed with preliminary scope from the client, Chilltech embarked on creating a fit-for-purpose HVAC solution that not only met commercial compliance requirements for multiple shared spaces but also provided optimal installation solutions to capitalise on cost efficiencies. Understanding the specific requirements of each space and its occupancy was crucial in delivering a design that aligned with the project brief.

Outcome

One of the key advantages of Chilltech’s bespoke HVAC design offering is that our people install what we design. This model ensures seamless communication from design to installation, enabling the collaboration of all skills within the Chilltech team to yield the most successful outcome.

The Kaikohe Innovation Hub stands as a testament to the effectiveness of the design and build approach in the market. These projects showcase the clear advantages of engaging with a single HVAC design and installation provider to create an enduring solution.
